I had to travel to Berlin due to a SharePoint Conference and I can truly tell you that I enjoyed the city and its people. As I arrived to Berlin, I noticed snow and was surprised about how beautiful Berlin looked from above. Moreover, I was extremely glad that most of the people speak english and were extremely helpful, since I decided to take public transportation to experience Berlin a bit more. As I took a train ride, I noticed that I was on the Ex-Communist side of Berlin, since I noticed many poorly run buildings. In addition, I was surprise by the amount of graffitti that I found along the way and by the american influences when it comes to advertisements.

Berlin has a lot of history, which can be found in the center of the city (easily accessible by Subway). One thing that was surprising is that during the week, most of the stored closed between 7-8 PM, which was kind of painful since the SharePoint Conference run until 6PM.

As many of my friends know, I do not drink, however, I had told some of my friends that I would drink one on their behalf. Since I do not drink, I did not know what type of beer to ordered. Hence, I asked the bartender what would she recommend. She recommended to have a hefeweizen beer with Banana Juice. I was extremely surprised that there was such a thing as banana juice and gave it a try. The drink was extremely fruity and thick, which I love and have made ever since using Banana Nectar.

I would certainly recommend this city since it has a lot of historical places, out of this world food and drink and specially extremely friendly people.

auf Wiedersehen
